A small round acetate reader that perches on the end of the nose and looks like it was meant to.
The same power in both eyes. Ready readers are not a substitute for an eye test. Lens guide
Choose a power before adding it.
Readers are often worn low, looking over the top at the room, and this frame is shaped for that: a 47 mm round with a wide 22 mm keyhole bridge that sits happily halfway down the nose. Cut from layered acetate, so each tortoise pair is its own pattern.
Same power in both eyes, centres set for an average face, not a substitute for an eye test. The keyhole bridge cannot be adjusted, and acetate loosens in heat - a reader left on a sunny windowsill will come back with splayed temples.

Care. Lukewarm water, washing-up liquid, the cloth. Off the windowsill.
Worn first. Six of us wore this frame daily for a month before it was listed. The weight and the hinge type above are what we measured, not what the supplier told us.
Orders from €70,00 ship free; below that it is €4,50. Two to three working days in Finland, three to six for most of the EU.
Anything unworn, in its case, can come back within 30 days. Hinges and lens coatings are covered for 2 years. The full policy.

Measured my old pair as the fit guide said, ordered the matching size, and it sat right without a visit to the optician for bending. The weight on the page was the weight on my kitchen scales.
Second frame. The first was glazed by my optician without any fuss - she liked that the demo lens was already the right shape.
Exactly as described, including the part about the coating smudging. It does. The cloth set sorted it, but I would have liked that in bigger letters.
Ready readers come in one frame size (M) and are chosen by power. If you already own a pair that works, order the same power. If not, this is a rough starting point by age, and an optician’s eye test is the accurate one.
| Power | Typical age | Comfortable at |
|---|---|---|
| +1.0 | 40–44 | Arm’s length, a laptop |
| +1.5 | 45–49 | A book held comfortably |
| +2.0 | 50–54 | A book, a phone |
| +2.5 | 55–59 | Close print, labels |
| +3.0 | 60+ | Very close work |
Ready readers have the same power in both eyes. They are not a substitute for an eye test.
